US Declares Venezuela a National Threat, Prompting Argentinian Rebuke

Argentina slams US for declaring Venezuela “a threat to US national security”, the country’s foreign ministry said in a statement.

Argentina condemned recent US claims that Venezuela threatens US national security, saying they are unjust and shocking, the country’s foreign ministry said in a statement.

On Monday, US President Barack Obama issued an executive order imposing sanctions against seven Venezuelan officials, freezing their assets and banning them from entering the United States. Obama described “erosion” of human rights guarantees in Venezuela as an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to the US security.

“The announcement is not only appalling due to the unusual hardness of its terms, almost threatening, but causes astonishment and surprise,” the Argentinian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website Wednesday.

The ministry also called on the US government to refrain from using “abusive language” inappropriate for a global power and from implementing sanctions that “only lead to failure and enmity between peoples and their governments.”

Cheers to the Argentine government for standing up for Venezuela. Israeli-American power over Latin America is probably at its lowest ever. Every time a Latin American government stands up to the zionazis/fascists, it provides encouragement for the fence sitters, and weakens that ZPC/NWO control even more.

Well said, Argentina! In fact, I don’t understand why nations worldwide don’t “link arms” in resistance to US bullying. Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, all of Central America, Ecuador, Chile, Brazil, Russia, China, Vietnam, India, Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Egypt, Libya… the list just goes on and on and on. They could pool advice on what works and what doesn’t when faced with the American bullies, and perhaps offer one another moral and material support.

      • Ann on March 14, 2015  ·  at 4:56 am EST/EDT

they are linking hands but they’re all on the same financial model…victims…like Russia…it takes a while to get off it…especially when the country doesn’t have any money.

US plans to exclude Russia from SWIFT backfires: “On Monday afternoon, not only did SWIFT NOT kick Russia out… but they announced that they were actually giving a BOARD SEAT to Russia.

This is basically the exact opposite of what the US government was pushing for.

    Awkward…

But this story is even bigger than that.

Because at the same time that the US government isn’t getting its way with SWIFT, the Chinese are busy putting together their own version of it called CIPS.

CIPS stands for the China International Payment System; it’s intended to be a direct competitor to SWIFT, and a brand new way for global banks to communicate and transact with one another in a way that does NOT depend on the United States.”

    • Anonymous on March 13, 2015  ·  at 1:07 am EST/EDT

As long as their standards are interoperable, then the more the merrier — market competition (which the US’s rulers/owners always public ally espouse).

      • Anonymous on March 13, 2015  ·  at 1:55 am EST/EDT

I imagine the server and client software would be entirely written in-house, even if it presents the same user interface to the clients. The encryption layer would certainly be different, and of military grade. That being the case, the standards/protocols wouldn’t really matter, but they are well-thought out and well-tested, so would probably remain.

Since the client software will ultimately be in the hands of potental enemies, and subjected to intense NSA scrutiny and hacking, this explains why it is only being operated by Russian institutions so far.

It is interesting that China is developing its own parallel CIPS system – probably easier than ensuring the Russian system is totally secure.

      • Tom Welsh on March 13, 2015  ·  at 9:47 am EST/EDT

“…market competition (which the US’s rulers/owners always public ally espouse)”.

And privately detest. Since Adam Smith, it has been well known that capitalists hate nothing more than competition. They will go a long way to establish a monopoly – or, failing that, a nice cartel. Look around you, if you live in a “Western” country, and you will see little else than wall-to-wall cartels relieved only by the occasional monopoly.

    • Kat Kan on March 13, 2015  ·  at 2:30 am EST/EDT

Yep the offer of a board seat is to keep them in. Too little too late.

Same with IMF — voting power is supposedly based on size of GDP, but it is rigged so the USA always has the final say. China for example surpassed USA as the largest economy but still has a tiny vote, based on ancient figures. As soon as BRICS looked like becoming real, IMF started running around to potential BRICS nations with “don’t go, don’t go, we’ll give you more votes, we promise, honest, no need to go, waaiiit…”.

Russia’s payment system is tested already on local banks and ready to go international very very soon. Early May if not sooner.

        http://russia-insider.com/en/2015/03/10/4280

    • Wim Roffel on March 13, 2015  ·  at 3:30 pm EST/EDT

You are wrong. Assignment of board seat happens on the basis of how much you use the system. Russia’s use had increased enough to justify a seat in the periodic board re-alignment. This is a bureaucratic decision – no politics involved.

Farrage is a banker. A BANKER. That’s all you really need to know. He would never even become known if he wasn’t a part of the game.

Besides, except for lots of hot air, he practically did absolutely nothing of significance.

        • Ann on March 14, 2015  ·  at 5:02 am EST/EDT

he still says it like it is. Just because he’s a banker doesn’t automatically make him “the axis of evil”.

    Something from London and Assange
    In this Democracy Now! Special,
filmed in July 2014, we go inside
    the Ecuadorian embassy in London
    to interview Wikileaks founder,
Julian Assange. At the time, he’d
been holed up there for more than
    two years, having received political
    asylum from that South American
nation. This interview and the story’s
    entire background is a fascinating
    investigation of laws, jurisdictions
and how laws are bent and how
    justice is an imaginary concept.
He’s still there, having now been
detained in a variety of locations,
without charge, for going on 5 years.
However, he’s proud to say that
WikiLeaks lives on, despite the fac
t that the organization cannot receive
payments via Bank of America, VISA,
    MasterCard, PayPal and Western Union.

    Part2
Whatever opinions one may have about
this man, this banking blockade of
WikiLeaks is outside of any accountable,
public process. It is without democratic
    oversight or transparency. The US
government, itself found that there were
no lawful grounds to add WikiLeaks to a
US financial blockade, yet it continues.
Due to this NGO’s extensively diminished
    resources, this unlawful blockade has
become the focal point of their legal
    actions.

As stated on their website: “If this financial
    attack stands unchallenged, a dangerous,
    oppressive and undemocratic precedent will
have been set, the implications of which go
far beyond WikiLeaks and its work. Any
organization that falls afoul of powerful
finance companies or their political allies
    can expect similar extrajudicial action.”

Assange, himself faces investigations in both
Sweden and the United States and describes
the labyrinthine and tenuous nature of the
claims made against him by the Swedish
    government to interviewer, Amy Goodman.

He also discusses the ongoing Grand Jury
probe in the United States, and WikiLeaks’
efforts to assist National Security Agency
    whistleblower, Edward Snowden.

    • Ann on March 13, 2015  ·  at 3:56 am EST/EDT

I also really like Assange. I’m not too sure about Snowden. I like Glenn Greenwald, but who was he before Snowden went to the Rothschilds newspaper, and talked to him there.

Oh well, I can’t see through mirrors.

      • Wim Roffel on March 13, 2015  ·  at 3:35 pm EST/EDT

There is good news for Assange. The Swedish prosecutor has finally agreed to interrogating him in Britain. Unfortunately it is only because some of the crimes that he is accused of are about to expire.

I’d like to see Canada and the US break up….break up and become smaller federations….and then my region would definitely join your list. My region was the first to have the Green Party up at the top of the hill in Ottawa….Elizabeth May. She’s great….except for her ‘climate change’ song. I’m sick of that song. What are we supposed to do about the climate change ???

These dates are right now, so seem too close. They’re not indicating that much activity yet. But Orthodox Easter is April 12 and junta likes to attack on important dates. NAF seems very well informed on what’s happening and where they are. They just issued yet another warning that they’ll take Mariupol, which means they are ready somewhere else again.

Big queues of refugees indicates junta is again stepping up mobilizations efforts, so any new people they get won’t be ready for another 2w or 3 weeks even by their standards. Another reason for longer lines to get into Russia is that Russia has tightened up the borders, most likely to reduce the risk of saboteurs/provocateurs entering.
